Stage Two - Divine Kitchen Concert - Music For The Soul Sarah Hopkins will be our artist in residence this year. Sarah is a unique Australian composer/performer, with a strong background and professional training in classical music; she is highly acclaimed for her visionary music and inspiring performances for cello, harmonic overtone singing, hand bells, didgeridoo, harmonic whirlies, choir and orchestra. Sarah combines an open-hearted spirituality with a steely rigour demanded of her craft to make wonderful music. Sarah has been working with students from Mackay North State High School Big Band and Mackay Choral Society under the direction of Kim Ki rkm an, to create an acoustic concert of rare quality and harmony. Workshop participants who glazed their souvenir bowl will have the opportunity to have them filled with delicious soup as an added bonus. Sarah’s choral, ensemble and orchestral compositions are regularly performed around the globe and her music is studied and performed in Australian schools and universities. Her creation, the Harmonic Whirlies, which are beautiful musical instruments and powerful vibrational healing tools, are truly unique yet anyone can play them. Each whirly produces celestial sounding pure harmonic music whilst simultaneously providing powerful vibrational healing. |
